habybpalyoga.com – On 21 October 2026, I had the privilege of attending the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. The event was held at the Royal Berkshire Hall, Tarindak D’Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong, celebrating the strong friendship between Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia.
Receiving a personal invitation from His Excellency Prof. Dr. Achmad Ubaedillah, M.A., Ambassador of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, was a true honor. Earlier this year, the Brunei Government appointed me as a Liaison Officer for the Indonesian delegation during an international FAO event. Through that role and other meetings, I had the chance to speak with Ambassador Ubaedillah several times. I am very grateful that our conversations led to this kind invitation.
Another highlight of the evening wa seeing our Miniter, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, who attended as a VIP guest. I was fortunate enough to greet him and take a memorable selfie together. Seeing our leaders actively represent Brunei in regional events is always motivating.
Throughout the night, I also met many accomplished professionals and diplomats. Being around people with so much experience was a humbling reminder of how much I still have to learn, and it inspired me to keep working hard toward my own goals.
It was a wonderful evening of good conversation and shared goodwill. Warm congratulations to the Embassy and the people of Indonesia on their 81st Independence Day!
